Fast Growing Plants : Articles

Popular species include Mints, Perennial Vines, and Chameleon Plant. One must be careful when planting Mint plants though as they can take over an area quite quickly. That is why I would recommend selecting one of our Hybrid Mints. These hybrid Mints do not seem to be as overpowering as the old favorites such as spearmint or peppermint.

Trees and shrubs are the backdrop of your landscape, being used as screens, backgrounds and accents. Trees are used for shade and for fruit. Flowering shrubs provide long lasting, beautiful blooms which brighten even the gloomiest of days. Combine evergreens with deciduous shrubs with different flowering times to create a succession of colour and year-round interest, and to accent your fast growing plants.

Fast Growing Plants info: (SHRUBS)Buddleia - Butterfly Bush - Medium to large shrub, fast growing (stand well back) covered in fragrant Pink, Royal Red, Black Knight or Nanho Blue varieties. The blooms are cone-shaped inflorescences 4"-12" long in summer that are in turn frequently covered in butterflies.

There's also an orange-yellow flowered variety B. globosa 'Golden Glow' with golf-ball sized and shaped inflorescences. Spikes of buttery-yellow, fragrant, blooms adorn this vigorous shrub from late spring to frost. Attracts loads of butterflies. Deadhead to promote rebloom. The strongest growing of the butterfly bushes. See also Flower Bulbs, and pages related to Fast Growing Plants.
