COOKING WITH HERBS!
This page has been prepared for all of those people who ask,
"e;How do I use my herbs now that I've got them?"e; So many would love
to experiment in their cooking, but don't quite know where to begin. Herbs can
be used so successfully to create interestingly subtle flavors in so many of
our foods. They can totally alter the results of a recipe used time and time
again. Of course, the herbs you use will all be a matter of personal taste.
One person may totally ignore any recipe which includes coriander, where another
may really enjoy it. As you actually use your herbs, you will become more acquainted
with their seasoning qualities and begin to experiment with your own flavor
combinations. The most important step to take is the first one - just jump right
in and start using your herbs.
It is very important that the herbs you use be fresh. An old
batch of dried herbs is relatively flavorless and actually not worth bothering
with. Also, it is important to keep in mind that when using the dried herbs
as opposed to the fresh ones, use less of the dried herb. Dried herbs are infinitely
more strongly flavored than the fresh ones. And, if possible, when using the
herbs, it helps to crush or mince them some before using, as this will bring
out a truer flavor.
Enough said! On to the Recipies!
